Pro Action Nevada 8 Person 3 Room Tent - £199.99 Best Price On The NetThe ProAction is a bit of a step up, and this is reflected in the price, although for an 8 person tent, this is not exactly expensive - it's still in the realms of cheap. The layout is 4+2+2, and overall tent size is (H)200, (W)320, (L)700cm, which is not the biggest in the 8 berth tent range, but it will comfortably fit 8 persons in it's 3 rooms. Tent pitching is straightforward with colour codes pole that come in the tents carrying bag. It's packed size is 34 x 75cm, and weight is 26.64kg, so storage when not in use should not be a problem. It's 2000mm hydrostatic head is ample for most weather conditions, and the tent comes with a separate groundsheet, and ring and pin system. |

Kangari 8 Man Tent - £99.99 Best Price On The NetThe Kangari 8 man tent is another great choice of family tent, and it has a pleasing 2.1 metres of standing room at it's highest point. It is a 4+4 layout, so, one berth for the adults, the other for the children, and as long as you don't have more than four children they should all fit in quite snugly. With seam taping, and a hydrostatic head level of 3000mm, this is an all weather tent with plenty of space if you have to endure a couple of days tent bound until the weather clears. Pitching shouldn't be difficult, as it comes with instructions (they all should but some of them don't), and the tent poles are colour coded. If you are concerned about children and the sun, then this is another UV protected tent, and at £99.99 it pretty much pays for itself after a couple of days use. |

Fuji 8 Person Tent - £149.99 (RRP £249.99)A great family tent, the Fuji 8 berth has the alternative layout of 2+3+3, so it's a great option for giving someone a break for the weekend, and taking their kids away. You don't need children to enjoy this tent though, as it is suitable for all camping trips, including wet weather ones, as it has a Hydrostatic Head level of 3000mm, and is seam taped so the water won't get in. The ground sheet is fully sewn in to the tent, so once it's all zipped up, nothing gets in. Tent poles are colour coded for easy pitching of the tent, and guy ropes are also coloured to cut down on those annoying trips of unseen ropes. Overall, its a good buy for the money and it has the nice detail of UV Protection which is becoming a bit of a concern, particularly if you have children |

Coleman Coastline 8 Deluxe Tunnel Tent - £199.99The biggest in its range, the Coleman Coastline is another tent that is new for 2010, and in the world of camping, new equals good - if it didn't we'd all still be camping in A-frame canvas tents with separate groundsheets, and waking up with colds in the morning. This is another of those tents whereby you put up the outer shell - flysheet, and hang the inner room from this exoskeleton, this can be handy if it it is raining when you pitch your tent, as the waterproof exterior goes up first allowing you to work on the rest of the tent form thee inside. The inner communal space is fairly big even with all berths in place (2.4x2.9m) - and this can obviously be extended if you get rid of one of the berths. The floorplan is 4+4, so before choosing this tent you may need to be sure that this is the best layout for you. The tent poles are fibreglass which mean lightweight and easily transportable, as well as easily stored when not in use. With it's front panel doorway, and Coleman's well deserved reputation for all their camping products, this ten twill not disappoint. |

Gelert Horizon 8 Person Tent - £185.00 (SOLD OUT)The Gelert Horizon goes a bit beyond camping, and enters the 'outdoor style' stakes, but, there's more to it than good looks. With a max height of 2.25 metres it offers standing room in the spacious communal area for all but the tallest camper. As a tunnel tent it is designed to keep the elements at bay, and as well as the Hydrostatic Head of 3000mm, it also has taped seams, the combination of the two pretty much guaranteeing to keep all rain out. It's a fairly standard 4+2+2 layout, and it weighs a total of 29.01 Kilograms which is not bad for a tent of this size. Important details include lantern points, and mosquito netting. It's cited pitch time is 40 minutes, and this is helped by colour coded poles. With a pitch area of 7400 x 3500mm it is not one of those tents that encroaches on everyone else's pitch - despite it's size. It certainly is stylish, and if that is important to you then this is a great choice, as it is a great all rounder, and comes with a 1 year warranty. |

Eurohike Buckingham 8 Tent - OUT OF STOCKIn the same price range, the Eurohike Buckingham does exactly what it says on the tin, it sleeps 8 in 3 rooms, and has a central leisure area. It has storage compartments throughout which are a bonus, although be sure that you have your mobile phone and wallet before you pack the tent away - I've lost count of the people I've seen unpacking their 8 man tents to rescue their phone - they don't find out about the wallet until they get to the petrol station!) Well ventilated, Eurohike tents are easy to put up, and this dome design is wind friendly and has spacious sleeping quarters. It's frame system and flysheet are of the lighter variety, so it's ideal for a festival or other occasion where you may be required to carry the unpacked tent for some distance. |
