Outwell Hartford XL Dome Tent - 2010 Model - £399.99This is another of the 8 man tents that manages to provide space, including head height, whilst remaining lightweight. The inner frame hangs from the outer which is handy for tent pitching in adverse conditions. As you would expect, there is generous headroom throughout, and the tent has a porch, and clear view windows. The tent is easy to pitch with its ring and pin system, and of course, it comes with a fully sewn in ground sheet. The 3000 hydrostatic fly sheet will keep the rain out, and the tent is fully ventilated. The fibreglass tent poles are lightweight which is good for transportation, and the material is fire retardant which is an essential especially if you are cooking in the roomy porch. Other bonuses include pre-attached luminous guylines, adjusting pegging points, and the Outwell Dry Zip system. |

Beyond by Gelert Corvus 6+2 Tunnel Tent - Apologies - Out Of StockWe are not sure why this tent offers 5000mm hydrostatic head protection, as that is pretty much a guarantee of 'the most waterproof' if ever there was one, but this tent is not the cheapest, so we need to be assured of it's value. It's a 6+2 layout which is not the norm and so in our opinion it is a great choice for a family tent, or for those who love the roominess which it provides. It truly is a massive tent and what it does do is provide great headroom and space, but, it is all done with fibreglass pole (again this explains the price), which cuts down on weigh and packed storage/transportation space. This is probably the best lightweight 'caravan size foldable tent' in the price range, and there is good aeration. It is very light due to the windows, and is a great choice for a family holiday. |
